This drive through has seen better days the color on the menu board has been faded by years of direct sunlight and the sign directing you which way to drive has fallen off its post and is now glowing upside down on the curb next to the stand.
They shouldn’t sell food if all they can do right is ice cream, as the previous reviews tout.Ī friend and I decided to visit the drive through at this Fosters Freeze to pick up a couple of vanilla ice cream cones because I was craving a little something sweet after a hot and spicy Vietnamese restaurant adventure. Aside from the fried mushrooms that could hardly be passed as food, they gave me no ranch, no jalapeños and the burger was mediocre. I confirmed that I indeed still wanted jalapeños and wasn’t sure how she made that connection. I ask for jalapeños on the side and the window attendant thought it sage to ask if I wanted banana peppers or jalapeños. So I settled with the double cheeseburger, and after having to repeat everything in my order twice, finally pulled up to the window. And though the menu said nothing about that being a steak burger too, apparently it is. I get my second choice, a jalapeño bacon cheeseburger. I also tried to order the spicy Chipotle pepperjack «steak» Burger, but come to find out they’re «out of steak burgers». But they were obviously frozen, suspiciously grainy inside, and fried in old oil.
My pregnant ol’lady wanted one of those deep fried burritos, and I figured why not get my own grub on with some fried mushrooms, because these types of places always have fried mushrooms. Foster’s Freeze is no substitute for Frosty King.
